Artist Bio

Mara Cressey is an artist and art instructor based in Indiana. She holds an MFA in Visual Studies from Missouri State University and a BFA in Figurative Studies from Fontbonne University. She has recently exhibited her work regionally and online in exhibits including Angie's Underground (2025) at Catapult Creative House at Southeast Missouri State University, Invites Only (2024) at the Springfield Art Museum, Daydreams (2023) juried by Montana graduate students in studio art, and Things I Wish I Could Say but Sometimes I am Afraid (2022) hosted by The In Art Gallery. In addition to her exhibitions, Mara has co-curated The Figure Reclaimed (2023), an exhibit showcasing the work of Aneka Ingold and Livia Xandersmith at the Carolla Arts Exhibition Center. She has also contributed to the College Art Association’s CWA Feminist Interview Project as an interviewee.
